Nokia 6131 NFC - Review:
Nokia have announced the new NFC version of their Nokia 6131.
NFC stands for 'Near Field Communication' for which the technology behind this enables the sharing of information, service initiation and payment and ticketing capabilities direct from the handset itself. Basically, all this means is that Near Field Communications Technology is a short range wireless connection technology which is new to the current market and enables mobiles and other devices to be used for applications that include digital wallet and security pass, making it enabled for two way communication rather than one.
The wireless connection allows data to be transferred at speeds upto 424 kbps between compatible devices which lock on when brought within a range of 4cm of each other. The advantage of the NFC technology is that it is compatible with existing connectivity options such as Bluetooth and WiFi and a connection is triggered by a simple wave or touch.
This then means that you can access exhibition halls, product information and buy a variety of products using your phone and even read business cards, storing the information directly onto your phone's memory.
So, with an identical spec to that of the original Nokia 6131 but with the added introduction of the NFC Technology, the Nokia 6131 could prove to be a real break through in terms of today's mobile technology and set the standards for tomorrow's future.
